OUR TECHNIQUES
At Well Within we always strive to remain on the cutting-edge of research and healing techniques. Doing so gives us a greater ability to help our patients truly recover, and in a manner that complements their body’s natural abilities. We always seek to do this without requiring synthetic or unnatural interventions.
We carefully research and vet the techniques and products that we incorporate in our care. Some of the methods we use include:
- Chiropractic adjustments (manual or using an activator or ArthrostimTM)
- Quantum Neurology
- NeuroEmotional Technique
- Applied Kinesiology (muscle testing)
- Nutritional counseling
- Whole-Food supplements
- Food/Chemical Sensitivity and Toxicity testing
- Functional lab reading/testing

Chiropractic
Historical evidence in paintings from ancient Egypt and Greece have revealed the use of chiropractic to date back thousands of years. For all of these years, chiropractic practitioners have understood that through the realignment of the musculoskeletal system you can promote healing for non-musculoskeletal conditions. While chiropractic is most commonly associated with bringing relief from nerve and spinal irritation in the back and neck, because of how vital our nervous system is to the function of our bodies we want to help our patients understand the greater power that a proper adjustment can provide for their overall health.
We use both manual adjustments and gentle adjusting tools to correct misalignments in the spine or extremities. A misalignment of the vertebral joints of the spine is called a “subluxation” and can cause pain, discomfort, and/or inhibited sensation or function in the area directly around or affected by the nerves branching from that area in the spine. Nerves previously inhibited by these subluxations are then able to communicate more freely with the body, which is essential for optimal health.
moreFood Sensitivities
You may be aware of the growing trend of food sensitivities and perhaps are even somewhat concerned that it is just a fad. We at Well Within are conscientious of the misunderstandings that can happen when it comes to caring for the body. However, as we have done further research and gained more and more clinical experience, we have found that the growing trend is legitimate and that many chronically ill people are sick because of specific food sensitivities.
One of the largest misconceptions with these kinds of sensitivities is that the offending foods have to hurt your stomach or cause intestinal disturbance. This is simply not true. We find many people with these intolerances experience neurological symptoms, fatigue, weight gain, anemia, brain fog, rashes, insomnia, depression, anxiety, headaches, migraines, and so on. A food allergy or sensitivity could cause just about any symptom.
These sensitivities can come about for many reasons, but two of them stand out to us. The first is that the body may be unable to correctly process the foods for absorption or detoxification. The second is the immune system may be confused as to the nature of the food.
When the body cannot break down all of the chemical properties of your food for elimination, the byproducts can build up as a toxicity in the system. Frequently, but not exclusively this affects the liver and can sometimes manifest through the skin (rashes, acne, etc.), or represent as general malaise, headaches, arthritis and so on.
moreMuscle Testing
At Well Within we believe strongly in the importance of understanding the complete picture of what is going on with your health. While we use many forms of testing and clinical correlations, one of the important methods that we use to learn about your body is through Applied Kinesiology, also known as Muscle Response Testing, or simply Muscle Testing.
Muscle testing is a manual, non-invasive technique, used to retrieve information from the body. It is much like the typical reflex test of the knee wherein tapping on the tendon creates the unconscious knee-jerk response. Like any reflex, it is unrelated to muscle strength and works because of the body’s natural involuntary response to stimuli. Muscle testing was first discovered in the late ‘60’s by Doctor George Goodheart, and is used as a primary feedback mechanism, that potentially evaluates the structural, chemical, and emotional well-being of the patient.
We integrate this kind of assessment to support all of the work we do, from Quantum Neurology to the NeuroEmotional Technique. We feel that it provides a unique and holistic tool to assist in finding the underlying causes of our patient’s health concerns.

moreNeuroEmotional Technique (N.E.T.)
Your day to day stress - including money matters, relationships, work, and so on - may be involved in the health issues that you are experiencing. Traumas, unresolved emotions, and protective mechanisms can create what we call “emotional complexes.” Within the body’s physiology, these “complexes,” stored through the body’s use of neuropeptides, can result in any number of undesirable symptoms. Not only is this possible, but the effects on your health could be quite severe, and - if left unchecked - stress can cause significant long-term distress to your overall health.
While society tends to divide your emotional well-being from your physical health, we at Well Within are very conscious of the fact that you cannot separate the two. Your body functions biochemically and your emotional responses fall into this category because they are composed of neurochemicals. It is generally recognized that physical experiences and traumas can have significant emotional impacts on us. When you experience emotions there are physical repercussions as well.
With this knowledge, we have trained in the NeuroEmotional Technique (NET), developed by Dr. Scott Walker, to support the alleviation of the psychological and neurological impact that emotions and stresses have on your body. By using NET we can target underlying stressors and facilitate your body’s healing.
moreNutrition
For your body to maintain optimal health, it is essential that you receive the nutritional building blocks used to heal and thrive. We cannot emphasize more strongly the importance of this basic fact. More and more we find people are nutritionally deficient, and consequently, very sick.
Our food supply has been changed dramatically over the past few decades, and while in part this was done with the best of intentions, it has lead to devastating and unforeseen changes in our health. There are many reasons why this decline in proper nutrition has taken place. The manner in which we grow, process and store our food, the popularization of "fast food,” the use of chemicals and genetic modification intended to increase yield and production – all have significant implications. These methods of convenience were intended to provide us with more time and accessibility to food, but have led to inferior products with many potential health risks.

moreQuantum Neurology
The nervous system is the master regulator and main communicator of the body. When there is a breakdown in this vital communication system you can have any number of symptoms including pain, weakness, tingling, loss of function, loss of motion, headaches, sensation changes, balance issues, memory deficits, aberrant emotions, digestive issues and more. Our bodies are remarkable and will adapt to the weaknesses that we all have on some level. We may not lose function, but the efficiency at which our bodies perform can be significantly diminished, requiring more of our vital energy to function and go about our day.
While great changes can be made through educated standard chiropractic adjustments, we have come to understand that sometimes the nerves need to receive further support. For this reason we have trained in the techniques taught by Quantum Neurology.
Quantum Neurology utilizes the power of a low-level red light that oscillates at a very specific frequency. Light therapy has been researched for decades and the development of this specific light and its frequency support the nervous system, promoting healing.
We consider Quantum Neurology an invaluable asset in helping us help you.
